I just surprised. It is almost unbelievable that my first generation of Samsung Galaxy Tab GT-P1000 has just received Android 4.4.2 KitKat, thanks to CyanogenMod 11 custom ROM and especially thanks to terenceng who posted the ROM on a forum thread in XDA-Developers forum.

Smanus Tab 10 is a 10' capacitive touchscreen quad-core CPU Google Android 4.4 Tablet computer. This firmware is based on official Android 4.4.2 AU 1130 version. Pictures are for reference only. We do not recommend you to upgrade your device if there is nothing wrong with it. And all risks at your own. Recovery mode I can wipe out the the storage which clears out every update but the software is still there, which leads me to believe that they have built that into the Android 4.4.4 OS before loading it onto the tablet. Where can I download Galaxy Tab Series Tablet stock rom or firmware? If you have found any discrepancy or missing information, please feel free to post it in the comment section below.

Galaxy Tab P1000 is almost 4 years old. It is only powered by 1GHz CPU with 512MB of RAM. With such quite low specs but it receives the KitKat custom ROM so fast is unbelievable. Love to have P1000 in hand with the Android 4.4.2 KitKat. It makes may Tab useful again :)

This build comes with several new features such as TabletUI (the UI can be tabbed in dual-pane), Google Home Launcher, Google Now, and more. Most of apps also run on ART mode without any problem.

If you want to install this build, you also need to download the Google Apps aka GApps (Banks GApps works well for most ROMs).

Android 4.4 and updated hardware make this a more battery-friendly way to measure your activity. Tap to pay, built a new way Android 4.4 introduces a new, open architecture for NFC payments that works with any mobile operator, and lets apps manage your payment information in the cloud or on your device.

Earlier today, we told you that all KRT16S builds for all versions of the Nexus 7 tablet – including cellular and Wi-Fi models for both the 2012 and 2013 Nexus 7 editions – are available for download, allowing users to manually update the firmware on their tablets from various KitKat or Jelly Bean builds to Google’s latest Android 4.4 release.

The same goes for the Nexus 10, which can be updated either from JWR66U or from KRT16O to KRT16S. Droid-Life reports that the Nexus 10 over the air (OTA) update may already be available to some tablet users, so better check for updates on the device before going for a manual install:
